Our Season is underway but is Shortened due to the Lockout

NBA fans finally get to see some action in the 2011-2012 season as the opener was on Christmas Day, 2 days ago. Though the lockout caused the season only to have 66 games instead of 82, the Christmas games delighted basketball fans everywhere, including me. Here were the Christmas Day scores from 2 days ago:

-Boston Celtics @ NY Knicks- NY wins 104-106.
Carmelo Anthony scored 37 points and snagged 8 rebounds as the Knicks escape Boston's 3rd quarter rally.

-Miami Heat @ Dallas Mavericks- Miami wins 105-94.
In the NBA Finals, Dallas won 4 games to 2. But in the rematch, LeBron refuses to lose to the Mavs a second time by getting a double-double. He poured 37 points in addition to 10 rebounds.

-Orlando Magic @ OKC Thunder- OKC wins 97-89.
Defending NBA scoring champion Kevin Durant comes up big by scoring 30 as the Thunder put Orlando down the drain.

-LA Clippers @ Golden State Warriors- LA wins 105-86.
The Clippers demolished Golden State as Chris Paul's debut with LA turned out well. He netted 20, with 9 assists. Blake Griffin contributed as well with 22 points.

This game was my favorite. (Without any bias.)
-Chicago Bulls @ LA Lakers- Chicago wins 88-87.
Reining MVP Derrick Rose hit the winning jumper and scored 22 points and Luol Deng had 21 points and 7 rebounds. He also got the steal that set up Rose's winning floater. For further highlights, go to:

The nation should see a fun, shortened 2011-2012 season this year.
