The Cubs are hot, but it's just a bit late.

The Cubs are on fire, and their hot streak started at about July 31, however, the NL Central division leading Brewers are on a surge just as good as the Cubs, and things have not really changed in the standings. It's just a little late for the Cubs to take a stand and win the division now. Wild Card, anyone? I'm 95% sure the Braves will eat up that department. Still it's nice to see the Cubs on a hot streak. They shut out their arch-rival Cardinals 3-0 today and walked off 6-5 last night.

A good note though (in my opinion), the Cubs fired GM Jim Hendry. He was great with Chicago just until recently, and he's really not making smart choices on the trades.

This has been the 2nd year in a a row they Cubs have had a terrible start to their season, started a fire, but started it too late and ran out of time. Next year?

  1. Too little, too late. It's sad that the Cubs organization do not honor their loyal fan base with better front office decisions. Hopefully, two words will change everything next seasons: Albert Pujols.
